About

My background covers Primary School headship, LA Advisory & Inspection Services and International School administration  but I now work on a freelance basis doing school improvement partner work with a group of schools, additional inspector work and consultancy and training. That gives me time to spend on my doctorate which focuses on early years education and working as a governor of a nursery school.

Although anything to do with Early Years education interests me, visits to Reggio Emilia in the past mean that I have a particular interest in how projects can be developed with young children, their use of multimodal communication skills, and assessment and documentation. I was delighted last year to be invited to join the Advisory Board of Sightlines Initiative’s Refocus group and I have been a contributor to the Refocus member’s magazine.

I’ve been a speaker and workshop leader in the UK and at International conferences and seminars and the training sessions I lead focus on environments for learning, reflective practice and other aspects of early years education.
